Style & Décor with Chairish

I was recently contacted by the good folks over at Chairish, the online marketplace of curated vintage furniture to take part in their style & décor with color campaign. A style & décor project that taps the creative talents of selected style bloggers to come up with a décor concept that incorporates many Chairish.com décor elements–with the focal element being an accent chair. Chairish provided thirteen accent chair options to choose from (see other options here). While it was difficult to not opt for my usual orange, red or green—-you’d be proud to know that I opted for an even bolder option; this fabulous magenta-colored lounge.  With a love for interior design, I couldn’t turn down the creative opportunity. With soft white walls, I opted to colorize the space with bold accents—in this case the wall painting and chair. When working with vibrant color palettes (outside of earthy color palettes), I tend to play it safe with accents as the bolder choice. My curated style board reflects my modern, eclectic and transitional interior design style. Being that Chairish is a vintage specialty marketplace, I was a little worried that I wouldn’t find many modern or mid-century elements to choose from. Boy was I quite surprised. Check out what I came up with.

  • Steel Console Table – The rustic finish of this glass top console provided a perfect contrast to the more modern elements.
  • Mystic Poet Painting – With a love for bold earthy and jewel tones, this artistic piece was an instant eye catcher. Sure to bring instant life to any space. I followed my two color rule–tying in the pink from the lounge chair and painting to create color cohesion.
  • Teak Lounge Chair – The focal point of my style board. Its sleek and modern design coupled with the rich magenta color was a winner. I love the rich wood frame which added a great balance. Make sure to check out other accent chair options by Chairish here.
  • Meryl Arc Lamp – I love the modern architecture of this floor lamp. Clean, sleek and functional.
  • Glass Buddha Bust – Mixing design elements is one way to bring character to a space. This piece brings a personal and spiritual touch. A great way to add some much needed zen and harmony with the “Enlightened One”.
  • Jere Sunburst Wall Sculpture – I have a thing for sunburst wall sculptures. I have three throughout my home. It’s a great way to make a statement.
  • Flokati Cream Rug – I have always had a love for white shaggy rugs. Mainly displayed as an accented option in all white spaces–I used this fabulous flokati rug to bring natural warmth to the space. There is nothing like a warm and inviting space.
  • Throw Pillow – When introducing luxe fabrics and textures in the home, I usually turn to pillows and curtains. Silk is my fabric of choice. This silk decorative pillow is a perfect touch to tie in the sunburst wall sculpture and natural elements within the room.
  • 1934 Dress Form – The seamstress in me couldn’t resist this vintage dress form. It meshes well with the color scheme.
  • Checkered Throw -It’s always great and convenient to have a throw readily available just in case those temperatures dip a tad bit too low.
  • Vintage Roselane Bowl – This bowl gives off an Asian look and feel. So I figured it would be a great addition to the iconic Buddha figure .
