I posted a few weeks ago about a fashion event that I would be attending Martin Luther King, Jr holiday weekend. The event was a Walk This Way Productions event which is spearheaded by Angela and LaWanda Bailey, two fabulous sisters whom I have great respect and admiration for. The dynamic duo celebrated their 15 year milestone in the business. But the beauty of these fabulous ladies struts far beyond the catwalk. The ladies mentor and give back to the young men and women of the community through their Urban Reflections, Inc., non-profit organization. The organization’s mission: to create positive social experiences, teach critical life skills, build character, cultural exposure, academic tutoring and mentoring for young girls ages 4-18 throughout the Florida inner cities. Talk about fashion with a cause. It is so good to see young women paying it forward for the greater good of our communities.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
~Margaret Mead
