5 Things to Consider for Your Next Dinner Party

I can't tell you how many dinner parties I've attended in the past that turned into a night of misery for both guests and host(s). What started out as a night of fun and entertainment seemingly ends up as a night of hassle and irritation. Don't get me wrong---I love a good outing, meal and amazing company. But I am extremely particular as to whom I enjoy my time with now as a thirty-something. So the next time you plan on hosting a dinner party (especially at a public restaurant)--please consider these five things first. They will help alleviate any confusion and headaches. 1. Choose Your Guests Wisely - Ever show up to a dinner party and say to yourself, who...

Fab Eats: Red Pony . Franklin TN

So I had a recent trip to Nashville and with every trip there is always an opportunity to drop in to one of the local critically acclaimed restaurants. This time around, Red Pony in Franklin, Tennessee was my choice. The Zagat rated eatery is nestled on the main strip in  downtown Franklin. The culinary style reflects swanky Manhattan meets rustic European. Here's a snapshot of what you can find on the menu: collard green rockefeller, lobster and scallop, shrimp and grits, top notch creme brulee, Moscow mule (my favorite) and an array of other creative and fabulous options. I've got to say---it isn't often that you find an establishment that successfully fuses culinary artistry with contemporary flare without compromising quality...

Fab Eats: FireFly Tapas . Las Vegas

One of my favorite things about Las Vegas is the infinite options of great food. From amazing steakhouses to some of the best whole in the wall restaurants you can find in America. Speaking of options--the tapas (Spanish for variety of small plates) concept has grown throughout the recent years. You can practically find one in any major city nowadays. But all tapas aren't created equal. Not every restaurant can deliver. Then there's FireFly located off the north end of the Vegas strip. The restaurant boasts some of the best tapas drinks and eats that I've had both near and afar. From savory white or red sangria to some traditional favorites. But what drew me most to their extensive menu?...

Fab Eats: Besito Mexican

So you guys know that I'm always looking for new and fabulous places to dine. I recently stumbled upon this uber chic and amazing contemporary Mexican restaurant in Tampa. Nestled  on the south perimeter of the Westshore Mall, this upscale cantina offers many classics with a contemporary twist. From freshly made guacamole to deliciously potent sangria. The daily specials are as creative as the interior and exterior decor. My favorite dish on the menu? The budin de mariscos; a tortilla pie of shrimp and jumbo lump crab, spiced tomato salsa, queso Chihuahua, poblano cream sauce and pico de gallo. Heavenly yummy! But holy moly...

Le Dîner en Blanc Comes to Orlando, FL

Le Dîner en Blanc, the sophisticated all-white Parisian-style pop-up picnic makes its inaugural presence in Orlando, Florida this fall. The event began in Paris in 1988 when François Pasquier, returning from a long stay abroad, had the idea to gather friends for a picnic. As the number of guests grew, he decided to hold the dinner in a public space and ask everyone to dress in all white to easily recognize one another. Nearly thirty years later, over 10,000 Parisians participate each year. In 2009, the first ever export of Le Dîner en Blanc took place in Montreal, Canada, followed by a first American edition in 2011 in New York City. After its successful New York debut, Diner en Blanc...
