Fashion Takes Flight with Tim Gunn

On Friday, April 4th— The United Way Suncoast held their annual The Art of Giving event. All proceeds benefited their Early Literacy Initiative (ELI); A program established to help children build the necessary reading skills through parental engagement, volunteer mobilization, caregiver support, teacher training and community awareness. Celebrity guest Tim Gunn of Lifetime’s Project Runway: Under Gunn was in attendance to share his perspective on life, philanthropy, fashion and how to simply make it work! Also in attendance was former Project Runway finalist and alum, designer Rami Kashou who showed his latest collection in an exclusive runway show. You can view and shop his full collection here. Guest enjoyed a live band, an array of desserts and food from some of the best Bay Area restaurants and a fabulous silent auction. Some of the auction items included an African Safari, a trip to Ireland, handbags from designers Michael Kors and Tory Burch. It was a perfect evening for a fashionably fabulous event. With a steady bay breeze and cooler temps–the idea of having the event in an airplane hangar at the Peter O. Knight Airport on Davis Island was a great one.
