Fab Travel: US Virgin Islands

Hey Beauties,

I’m back and rejuvenated from a much needed vacation with the family. I can’t tell you guys just how much stepping away from everyday life can do for the mind, body and spirit. We flew in to St. Thomas for the week, hung out on the island and hopped to a some nearby islands for some cross-island adventure. This was an emotional trip for me on so many levels. Some of you may already know that I spent some years growing up on the island as a young girl before moving to New York. I hadn’t been back to the island since that time; so it was safe to say that taking this trip down memory lane with my family was quite the emotional one.

We stayed at the Marriott Frenchman’s Reef, a fabulous resort overlooking Morningstar Bay on the Caribbean coast. More on this fabulous property in an upcoming post. My hubby and son were so excited to take this trip back down memory lane with me—-making it all so special. There is so much to do other than the usual resort stuff, there’s the beaches, snorkeling, kayaking, shopping, touring and island hopping to neighboring Virgin Islands like St. Johns, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke and Anegada (our favorite thing to do). We decided to rent a car and I played Miss Daisy (from the classic movie) while my husband braved the left-side driving, steep mountain tops and winding roads. He handled it like a champ. I’m so proud of him.
Geesh. It felt really good to just be free. Free of burden, makeup and life’s expectations. I’m already planning the next vacay, especially since school started this week and I’m already worn out. LOL. I hope you beauties had an amazing summer. Until next time….Peace, Love & Blessings!
